What Exactly Will Valor Foundation Be Doing
The main purpose of the foundation will be to raise funds through donations and grants for the sole purpose of creating more sustainable farming practices. This will be done through the development of propriety technology to aid farmers, especially aquaponics and hydroponic farmers, that will increase vegetable yields and also conserve some of our most valuable resources such as electricity and water.
Our biggest mission will be to be a leader in the conservation of our local gamefish, rainbow trout and especially yellow perch. Both fish are highly overfished in Wisconsin and yellow perch is virtually non-existent in our local waters due to overfishing. The funds that we bring in will be used to purchase high quality equipment to help develop a sustainable breeding program for both fish. Some of the equipment and supplies may include:
Commercial grade filtration equipment
Organic fish feed
Initial breeding stock
The goal will also be to eventually hire a lead biologist to run this program full time. We will partner with Valor Aquaponics and utilize some of their space to run this program. As we grow, we will also look to partner with other programs in Wisconsin with a similar goal.
Will Donations be Tax Exempt?
Yes. As of February 18, 2022, Valor Foundation did receive their 501(c)3 tax-exempt status from the IRS. That means that bequests, devises, transfers, gifts and contributions are tax-deductible under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522.
